"This hotel is a good 25mins walk into the Old Town of Munich and next door to Octoberfest. It is also in a quite lively area and the noise late night is reflective of this. Hotel has a lovely ambience, we were 3rd floor, nice room, little tired but still enjoyable. Bathrooms is very good, roomy shower, great lights. Breakfast was all you could need, fresh fruits, bread, meat, cheeses etc. Bring your own tea as their tea selection didn't appear to have anything black, all a bit fruit unless you like Earl Grey. The gentleman who was on reception at our arrival (sorry didn't know name) was thoroughly helpful and knowledgeable, and couldn't do enough to help. Great recommendation for eating locally. Overall a lovely hotel"

"The staff were very nice here and I liked staying near the main train station. I have gotten much better deals in Munich though (booked a little late). It seems this place should have been about 30% less expensive. It is great the office has a safe for guests’ valuables. I wished there was an additional lock on the doors. My room was on the ground floor with its own exterior entrance, like an apartment would have, and while Munich is very safe, would have preferred an extra latch. My neighbors had very ******** all night long 🙉"

"Two adults and one child, with our 5-year-old. We booked a standard double room with breakfast for two, and our child ate for free. The room was a bit small and the facilities were quite basic, but breakfast was decent. The biggest plus is its convenient location. Right outside the hotel, there's the Lufthansa Airport Express, which runs every 20 minutes. It costs 13 euros one-way for adults, and our 5-year-old traveled free. It takes about 50 minutes to get to the airport. For city attractions, Marienplatz is only about a 15-minute walk away. There's also a Subway, McDonald's, and even a Decathlon nearby. The location is absolutely fantastic."

"I stayed at Holiday Inn from 30th December to 31st December. I booked a double-bed room and stayed with my brother and my son. Unfortunately, the room and the bathroom were not cleaned properly. Some basic room amenities were missing, especially a hair dryer and bath items. Even after asking twice, we received them very late. The room phone was not working, so every time we needed something, we had to walk to the reception, which was quite inconvenient. I always believed Holiday Inn was a very good hotel, which is why I chose it. Sadly, this was my first experience, and it was very disappointing — and unfortunately, it will also be my last."

"We were very disappointed with our recent stay at Beyond by Geisel. The concept of the hotel is interesting in the form of a small modern boutique hotel located on the 5th and 6th floors of a building right in front on Marienplatz. In term of location it’s as good as it gets, very central within walking distance of most sites in central Munich. The entrance is a little difficult to locate however and is in a shared entrance on a side street, you have to locate the buzzer and go through a small unseemly corridor to get to the elevator. Unfortunately the concept of this hotel is also its main problem, all the rooms are directly connected to the common area and although the doors are heavy it’s extremely noisy. I’m actually amazed that no reviews are mentioning this issue because it’s major it’s pretty much a stay-ruining issue. You don’t hear a few louder noise YOU. CAN. HEAR. EVERYTHING. AT. ALL. TIME. Other reviews were pointing out that the street noise was effectively cancelled, that is partly true, however, it matters not since the street noise is completely drowned out by the noise coming at all times from the reception, kitchen, salon, library. I’m a light sleeper and I prepare accordingly but I was disturbed even with 35 db earplugs. Serious improvements need to be made in order to correct this issue. Other than that, the rooms are decently sized and comfortable and the furniture and floor are fitting with the decor and overall ambience. The bathroom is also of decent sized but in our deluxe room the shower was very small and since there’s no door on the shower the water was often soaking the shower mat. The breakfast service is quite redundant even with the gourmet menu it gets quite repetitive and their pastries are not great with croissant being consistently undercook. Service is attentive but can be inconsistent. Some of the personnel was very helpful and attentive other were courteous but nothing more. Overall I would say the service was adequate for this type of hotel but could be improved also."
